Raw iron-speckle small pasta bowl

These small pasta bowls have been wheelthrown in an iron-rich clay and glazed on the inside in white glaze. Where left unglazed, the raw clay is toasted an organic tan-grey and features glossy iron specks that also show through the white glaze. 

This piece measures around 12cm wide and about 5cm tall. I use these as everyday pieces for everything from pasta, salad, icecream or soup! They’re my go-to.

Although dishwasher safe, to keep these pieces at their very best I recommend hand washing. They’re fully microwave safe. 

We sand the base of each bowl to smooth the surface and prevent the iron speckles scratching surfaces. However we leave the sides unsanded and enjoy the light gravelly surface on our hands 🤲🏻

Each piece is hand crafted, and I value the variations in shape, glaze and size that come from authentic hand craftsmanship.
