This is not a particularly easy piece, for me. Maybe it is for you - maybe you see a beautiful sunset, and you enjoy it. I don’t mind if you do. For me, it’s a little different. 

It feels like I was asleep, and dreaming. And like a dream, all these little impossible memories, and half thoughts I would normally have to snatch at are right here. And they’re vitally important - someone will die. Frustrating conversations, and the urge to scream. Peppered through with little aggressions, like soot. Well mixed, and staining everything. Hillsides and woods, in the late, late night and the early morning. Hot faces in the liquid dark, bonfires surrounded by choices and bears. Those impossible memories, that we pretend to forget, an echo. And we smile in conversation, and shake our hair back, and we don’t think. Of then, cold breath in the first light, frost underfoot in the mud, finding our sandals. And it’s all tied up together, the things we won’t think, and the things we always thought we’d do, but now we won’t. And I still don’t know which I’d choose, if I faced it again. Because politeness has its grip on my throat, and only in sleeping does it let go.
