One of a small series for something that was haunting my mind while I was away from the studio and couldn’t get it down.
Pink dawn and dusk, and winter cold leaves left from autumn, wet drifts on the ground after rain. Bare branches and trunks, wet reflections and glorious skies. The entire time I was painting them, I felt that so-clear vision slipping away from me, and ended up feeling like they went where they wanted. But with a few weeks distance I look at them and see that vision again.
Some paintings just make you work for it.
